Nutrition F.A.Q.'s

Is Insurance required to receive nutrition services?

No, insurance is not required to schedule an appointment.

How much will my appointment cost?

The cost of your appointment will vary based on the tier of our sliding scale program you’re on, your health insurance status, and the services provided.

What if I speak another language other than English?

Our staff will either be able to speak that language or use live interpretation services to be able to communicate.

How long are nutrition visits?

This can vary, but usually 30-45 minutes for an initial visit. We discuss your eating, exercise, and medication routines in order to set steps to improve your health. Follow-up visits are typically shorter. We typically follow up on your efforts set at the last visit and figure out the next steps.

What should I bring to my nutrition visit?

If you are tracking your food intake and/or exercise activities, bring those logs. If you are living with diabetes and are monitoring your blood sugar, please bring your logs and/or your meter. If you want to start tracking your food intake for your visit, click here.

Do you help people start weight loss medications?

We can discuss weight loss medications during our visits. Weight loss medication coverage is very variable based on insurance, and cost can vary for those without insurance. We cannot prescribe medications. However, we work closely with your medical provider to allow for those prescriptions if medication is an option.
