Important Changes to Your Medicaid Benefits Starting January 1, 2027
Under new federal rules (H.R. 1), most adults aged 19–64 who do not have a disability must meet a monthly requirement to keep their full Medicaid coverage.
To stay covered, you must complete at least 80 hours per month of:
-
Work
-
School or job training
-
Volunteering
Alternatively, your household must earn at least $580 per month. Adults will have to re-certify every 6 months instead of every 12 months.
What happens if you don’t meet these requirements? If you do not meet these rules, you risk losing your full Medicaid benefits, including doctor and dental visits, prescription drugs, and mental health services.
If you are one of the individuals who may be affected by the upcoming Medicaid changes, please speak with one of our staff members about our Outreach and Enrollment Coordinators. They are available to answer your questions, help you understand your coverage options, and provide assistance throughout this transition.
