Common Questions

What is Managed Care?
In Medicaid today, people enroll in a health care plan that is run by the state government.  In Medicaid Managed Care, people enroll in a health care plan that is run by a prepaid health plan or “PHP”.

What will be different for me in Medicaid Managed CAre?
Most things will stay the same.  The main difference is that you will get to choose a health care plan that best fits your personal situation.

When will Medicaid Managed Care start?
Many people will transition to Medicaid Managed Care beginning February, 2020.

Will my eligibility, services, or price of my services change?
Eligibility rules will remain the same.  Services that were covered under Medicaid will continue under Medicaid Managed Care.  You will still continue to be covered for the same services, treatment and supplies.  Cost sharing is not changing.
